Some industries have been working remotely for years. Rubber Ducky is fortunate to be in one of those. We have had our work force remote for nearly a decade. Over the years we have learned what works and what doesn’t. Today there are amazing tools to help support the romote work force. Heres how to do it.
Working from home is great. There is a sense of freedom that comes with it. However there are also a lot of chalanges that come with it.
Distraction
While working from home it can be hard to stay focused. There are lots of distractions, the fridge (my favorite), the kids, tv, games, the dog, etc. Its easy to wonder and loose focus.
Motivation
A great aproach is to set blocks of time you will work before getting up. Isolating your self in a home office or a room away from everything else can improve productivity. Setting and achieving daily or hourly goals is another way to motivate.
Go outside
We can get stir crazy quick. It helps to take a 15 minute break every two hours and stretch our legs. Go for a walk around the block. Do some situps or jumping jacks. Even just standing by the window looking out helps keep you fresh
Take a nap
The great thing about working from home is you can take a nap. When those afternoon dulldrums hit, why not take a 15 mintue nap. You will wake up fresh and ready to get after it. Remember no more then 20 minutes or you will be more sleepy.
